Game Pass's 1€ trial returned in a nerfed manner: being only 2 weeks in length. Evidently that's not long enough for me to beat 2 short games and 1 bigger one (in a completionist style). I will have to return to finish the latter, Gotham Knights, some other time.

ReCore: Definitive Edition
While looking at ReCore: Definitive Edition at a recent sale, I realized the only reason I wanted it on Steam was to get its stats added up to my profile's achievement showcase. I came to my senses and instead decided to play it were it was cheapest, which still was on the Windows Store with the Xbox Game Pass for PC. Especially since the pass remained 1€ even though it had said 4€ per month after the first. Maybe its counter reset when I canceled my subscription.

Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse was almost a pure impulse purchase for me. I saw it in the lowest tier of a humble bundle some time back and thought that maybe I should try a 2D platformer for a change. The game's user reception on Steam seemed to be rather positive too.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst
Origin Access can be really great value for money at its low price of 4€ / month or 30€ / year. You get to play many big EA titles for a nominal fee, although I would not quite call the current total of 64 games "tons of titles". Some of them are also not the full experience. The Mass Effect series for instance does not have its infamous BioWare points requiring DLC included and you still need to buy them even with Access.

Alice: Madness Returns
The death of Alice's family returns to haunt her in Alice: Madness Returns. This time around we get to see the bleak real world as well, though it merely functions as carrying the story forward between chapters. The actual action still happens in the colorful Wonderland.

Mirror's Edge
Sometimes I get that funny feeling when I am in a danger of falling from a high location -- in a game. Mirror's Edge is all about traversing from a rooftop to another but the funny feeling gets old really fast. Probably because you will fall constantly, and it does not cost you much; you just begin again from the last checkpoint.

American McGee's Alice
Who the hell is American Mcgee? And is there maybe a British McGee somewhere or something? This I asked myself before reading the Wikipedia article of American McGee's Alice. Evidently, American is actually the guy's first name. Huh.
