Star Trek Character Tiers

Now that I have seen all Star Trek: The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager episodes, I decided to put their characters (main cast) into tiers; how I liked them.

Note that the characters are not in any particular order inside the tiers.

Godly Tier

Captain Jean-Luc Picard [Patrick Stewart] TNG
- The legendary, charismatic captain of the USS Enterprise.
Lieutenant Commander Data [Brent Spiner] TNG
- My childhood hero. He's awesome. Sadly, he's destroyed in Nemesis. (Resurrected inside B-4 in the comic book series Star Trek: Countdown.)

High Tier

Quark [Armin Shimerman] DS9
- Quark and the rest of the DS9 Ferengi bring in the funniest episodes in all of the Star Trek history.
The Doctor [Roberto Picardo] VOY
- A surprisingly deep character for a mere hologram.
Seven of Nine [Jeri Ryan] VOY
- Quite similar to Data but Borg. Voyager improved greatly after she came aboard. Also: boobs.

Medium Tier

Commander William Riker [Jonathan Frakes] TNG
- A basic first officer character.
Lieutenant Commander Geordi La Forge [LeVar Burton] TNG
- Geordi hilights Data's awesomeness.
Chief Medical Officer (Commander) Beverly Crusher [Gates McFadden] TNG
- A basic medical officer. No complaints.
Major Kira Nerys [Nana Visitor] DS9
- Actually, all of the medium tier characters are quite plain; not much to say.
Chief Medical Officer (Lieutenant) Julian Bashir [Alexander Siddig] DS9
- Another medical officer. His suddenly revealed super-human intelligence doesn't show too much.
Lieutenant Commander Jadzia Dax [Terry Farrell] DS9
- I wish none of her hosts had been Klingon.
Counselor (Ensign) Ezri Dax [Nicole de Boer] DS9
- "I'm Dax but not that Dax."
Lieutenant Commander Tuvok [Tim Russ] VOY
- A Vulcan. "Yay".
Lieutenant Tom Paris [Robert Duncan McNeill] VOY
- Funny enough. His demotion to Ensign in "Thirty Days" was just stupid.
Kes [Jennifer Lien] VOY
- Her departure to give room for Seven of Nine surprised me not one bit.

Low Tier

Lieutenant Commander Worf [Michael Dorn] TNG, DS9
- Gah, Klingons and their honor and whatnot.
Counselor (Lieutenant Commander) Deanna Troi [Marina Sirtis] TNG
- I so dislike listening to her speaking.
Chief of Security (Constable) Odo [Rene Auberjonois] DS9
- Ugly to watch and rather boring.
Chief Miles O'Brien [Colm Meaney] DS9, TNG
- An "Ok" character but he gets annoying little bit too often.
Commander Chakotay [Robert Beltran] VOY
- A boring first officer. Better than his captain, though.
Lieutenant B'Elanna Torres [Roxann Dawson] VOY
- Half a Klingon is still too much.
Ensign Harry Kim [Garrett Wang] VOY
- Pathetic. Ensign for seven years tells it all.

Abysmal Tier

Ensign Wesley Crusher [Wil Wheaton] TNG
- Ahahaha.
Captain Benjamin Sisko [Avery Brooks] DS9
- Umm, please take this brute away. A huge decline in the commanding officer if you come to DS9 after TNG. How good the finale would have been if you didn't have to watch this emissary guy jumping into the flames.
Jake Sisko [Cirroc Lofton] DS9
- Great, the brute has a good-for-nothing son... whose actor suddenly grew too tall.
Captain Cathryn Janeway [Kate Mulgrew] VOY
- Cathryn "We haven't always seen eye to eye but..." Janeway. She looks (especially with her first hair-style) like she's escaped from the Little House on the Prairie. Not good, not good at all.
Neelix [Ethan Phillips] VOY
- Guigan given a main cast role. A big No.
