Planar Instabilities

Another glorious day in the Pyramid of Shadows. This time we met some big guy in a room with planar issues and a vortex throwing us around.

The fight was quite a challenge with the environmental hazard the vortex and planar instability were creating as they heavily hampered movement in the room, and often knocked people prone. Fun times.

Add in the mob's nasty aoe - on the first cast we were all stunned (save ends) - and his defensive ability, which caused attackers to get teleported three squares, and you have quite a tough fight. I used all my dailies (Jaws of the Wolf, Two-Wolf Pounce, and Attacks on the Run) but they kinda missed or did low damage. Yet somehow we managed to down him (450 hp), all of us alive.

However, I think all of our heals had to be used and a handful of potions, too - most of them administered to an unconscious character. We got our biggest experience reward from a single fight so far but yet again: no loot.

The fight could've been easier if we had knocked over the two stone pillar thingies, though, which were sustaining the vortex/planar instability. Our bad, that.

Another great encounter we played involved some (presumably) evil "winter" eladrins on the most slippery ice you'll ever see. Our warlord spent most of the encounter prone after slipping on his turn 2 (I think).

Our next gaming session is scheduled on 28.11. and our DM promised the next encounter to be a cool one. We shall see if it's as challenging as the fights we had yesterday.
